“We found ourselves looking at this data and at our experience as non-profit agencies providing direct services to women and gender-diverse people, and realized that we need to do more than provide front-line services. We needed to advocate for a real systems-level shift that would make it so Waterloo Region isn’t such a bad place to be a woman.
Enter: The Feminist Shift, a new advocacy collaborative between YWCA Cambridge and YW Kitchener-Waterloo that is committed to preventing and addressing gender-based violence and the economic, political and social factors that foster it.”
